2002 BMW 745i swapped with a modest 4.8L LR4 coupled to a Monster built TH350, managed by the stock 0411 PCM through a PSI standalone harness. Custom engine and transmission mounts, full stainless exhaust, A-Body dakota digital gauges and a B&M ratchet shifter where the cup holders used to sit.
Tried to do this one as cheap as possible so we hit the ol' fb marketplace and found a 4.8L for $300. Went through and refreshed the bottom end; doing a ball hone and adding all new bearings. New melling oil pump, cheap Amazon sloppy stage 2, and a rattle can spray job finished off the short block.

Like any other real car guys, we horde parts in hopes of using them eventually which was the case with the transmission for this build. An old tired 4WD TH350 from a 78 GMC K25 that wouldn't work or hold up in stock form..and why rebuild back to stock when you can get beefy! A Monster Transmission SportMonster kit and a 2wd output shaft later and we have our combo ready to drop in.
Injectors, exhaust manifolds, intake, throttle body, shifter, gauges..are also all other parts from the horde.
The original plan for the standalone harness was another Amazon special but we happened to have a few PSI harnesses laying around and free beats cheap anyday so what the hey. A 0411 PCM from the stack and a couple wire splices for fueling and we were on our way.
